the wonders of being a w@wie..
after we formally informed our respective families (a.k.a. pamanhikan - more on this on a separate entry)of our plan to finally tie the knot, we sorta slack off thinking we have at least a year of preparation. my sister and i visited tagaytay last may for the reservation of the church and then everything stopped there.

no progress for another month.

then one day as i was browsing WE mag, i saw an ad on WOW and kasal. i logged on to both and join the community. i was thinking maybe by getting regular updates from accredited suppliers of these sites, we will somehow be inspired to decide and pick up some pace with our own preparation.

once i got the approval last june 17th from WOW, i was bombarded with at least 150 msgs a day! this surprised and annoyed me though ms. benz, the group's facilitator, warned of the huge number of msgs daily. but i can no way read all these msgs with my work load! and so as i was about to send my deactivation msg i started to read few threads from the group. and boy, what a pleasant surprise! all my queries are discussed and answered by fellow bride-to-be's, tips and supplier ratings are shared amongst us, polls for indecisive fellows are on with topics ranging from gowns to flowers, churches, photogs, couturiers, caterers, shoes, invites, motiffs, themes and so on. i was amazed on how extensive and in-depth the discussions are. and then it hit me! we are so behind the schedule of preparations! members of this group plans to marry last quarter of 2008 or 2009! and we barely have 10 mos to go! whew!

i am so thankful i joined this group. i may be a mere lurker, as i was not so active in group discussions but i truly learned a lot. who else would make me realize that one needs a stylist (aside from the florist?), the difference b/w a wedding coordinator and wedding planner (hahaha, stupid me!). and mind you, i am speaking the language now. i now know the meaning of h2b, FMIL, STDs, and so on hehehe..

members of this group are amazingly nice and accommodating with all the kulit and sometimes non-sense questions and comments. maybe because we understand each other and we all feel the joys and pains of being a b2b's or h2b's.

i am a w@wie. and im proud of it!

warning though: being a w@wie can be addictive :)
